YWCA Trade Journey Program

Each year we offer the YWCA Trade Journey Program’s 16 week training from April to December.  In 2019 our first group of 15 women started their training on April 29th.

The month of June has been really busy for our group of women. They have attended Sask. Polytechnic for the Electrical and Plumbing Trade Samplers. Two very enjoyable days were spent working at Habitat for Humanity. Dress for Success has provided two new outfits for them to wear for job interviews. We had a tour of Clark Roofing and some very interesting Lunch and Learn Guests. It is hard to believe we are into week 10 already.

The most exciting part for us is the change in our participants; they are becoming more confident and self-assured each day. They have completed all three Trade Samplers and have chosen a Trade for their work placement.

As this group of amazing women work towards completing the training, we have started recruiting for the next group which will begin on August 26th.  The first step is to attend an information session.  Sessions are happening until July 19.  Interested?  Save your spot in an information session by registering online at www.tradejourney.ca or by calling 306.986.2884.
