YWCA Saskatoon commits to the following Calls to Action:

#21: We commit to working to fund Indigenous Healing initiatives within the organization to address the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual harms caused by residential schools.

#22: We commit to recognizing the value of Indigenous healing practices and providing them for Indigenous residents in collaboration with Indigenous healers and Elders.

 

 

#48: We commit to formally adopting and complying with the principles, norms and standards of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as a framework for reconciliation.

#57: We commit to providing education to employees on the history of Indigenous peoples, including the history and legacy of residential schools, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples,  Treaties and Indigenous rights, Indigenous law and Indigenous-Crown relations. We understand this will require skills-based training in intercultural competency, conflict resolution, human rights and anti-racism.
