Nutrien 2018 Women of Distinction Award Recipients Announced

SASKATOON, May 31, 2018 – Community-led nominations are at the heart of Saskatoon’s Nutrien 2018 Women of Distinction Awards. This year, 41 women were nominated by colleagues, friends and family, and the final 11 award recipients were announced tonight at TCU Place.

The longstanding awards event recognizes women for excellence and leadership in several spheres, and for their community contributions to the greater good in Saskatoon and area.

“Our YWCA Saskatoon board and staff are so thrilled with over 750 guests attending the awards dinner this year, celebrating the women who are nominated and receiving awards. Funds raised tonight through all of this community support  will make a difference for hundreds of women and families who depend on the YWCA. The Women of Distinction is such a great celebration of women’s achievements and we are grateful to everyone for their support of the YWCA,” said YWCA Saskatoon CEO Shannon Friesen.

Nationally, the YWCA Women of Distinction Awards are recognized among the most prestigious awards for women. Locally, the awards have celebrated the best in women’s achievements since 1982 with hundreds of nominees over the years.
