To address the overwhelming need in the community and to help more women and children move forward on a path to hope, health, and healing, we recently raised $19 million for the Hope Lives Here fundraising campaign with 3 priorities:
- Increase the number of available Crisis Shelter and Transitional beds with a 75-bed expansion. This will soon more than double the YWCA’s capacity creating more space for more women and children. The new 35 units have space so women can stay with their children.
- Repair and renovate critical aspects of the current shelter and facility, including a pressing need for a new roof.
- Expand the Employment and Learning Centre where clients learn critical skills necessary to obtain sustainable employment.
