In 2023, YWCA Saskatoon’s Crisis Shelter & Residence turned away a staggering 5, 297 women, youth and children. That’s over 14 women per day and 441 a month. YWCA does not know where they go.

The homelessness crisis in our community already disproportionately affects women and children and the need grows exponentially each year. Often facing abuse, mental health struggles, trauma or addiction – these women and their families need safety, shelter, support and healing.

They are in need of hope. That hope is what drives them forward. It’s what drives them to seek help. At YWCA Saskatoon hope is at the heart of everything we do – it’s what motivates us to continue serving women and helping them rebuild their lives. We want to ensure this hope is there when they need it – that a light remains in the darkness.

This overwhelming need in the community was the catalyst for launching our $19 million Hope Lives Here campaign.

Thanks to the incredible support of our community and donors, we have reached our $19 million Hope Lives Here campaign goal! While this milestone is an incredible achievement, our work does not stop here. The ongoing funding of our programs and services is critical to ensuring women and families receive the wraparound support they need to move toward healing and stability.
