Programming

“I loved the weekly Community dinners. It was a nice chance to socialize and get to know the other women and made me feel included and a part of the community”

YWCA Saskatoon Crisis Shelter and Residence provides various programming options to clients during their stay. Programming has numerous purposes including physical and emotional healing and recovery, learning new skills, support in parenting, positive social interaction and more. Current programming includes: Healing Circles, Community dinners, movie nights, pizza nights, parenting program, public swims and educational groups and speakers. But more programming is needed to ensure women leave our shelter with confidence and new life skills to ensure they remain out of crisis.

You can help to support our efforts. There are many other programs that would be of great benefit to the women in our shelters. You can support these women by helping us create parenting skills programs, cultural diversity and understanding courses, or even by helping us take the women and their children to community events such as the Children’s Festival.
