Saskatoon Community Service Village
The Saskatoon Community Service Village is an independent, non-profit charitable organization. It is located in a multi-service building adjoining the YWCA Saskatoon and residing on YWCA Saskatoon property. The construction of the Village was an idea borne by six partner agencies as a way to allow all the partners to operate more efficiently, save money on shared services and find new and better ways of delivering services to the community. The partner agencies include:
- YWCA Saskatoon,
- United Way of Saskatoon,
- Saskatoon Family Services,
- Catholic Family Services of Saskatoon,
- Saskatoon Crisis Intervention Service, and
- Saskatoon Sexual Assault and Information Centre.
Each partner agency appoints two members to the Village Board of Directors. This board oversees the operations of the building with each partner agency leasing space from the Village. The board also leases space on the third floor to other smaller non-profits which are often not large enough or financially able to lease at typical commercial rates.
